“I feel like I could write a book on all the ways that Matisse showed up for our family during my second pregnancy and birth and how she helped make this the redemptive birth we had been praying for.  I truly do not believe there is any way we would have had the experience and delivery we did without her.  My first birth my husband and I went into with no knowledge and complications with preeclampsia.  I had no idea how to advocate for myself or what questions I could ask, so my husband and I just agreed to everything the doctors suggested we do.  This time was completely different, Matisse helped us in SO many ways from providing us with educational resources to prepare ourselves for the redemptive birth we planned, to constantly checking in and offering to support us in all ways possible.  This pregnancy had also been considered high risk until it wasn’t anymore just a few weeks before delivery and Matisse provided incredible encouragement and support during both the highs and the lows.  When it came time to welcome our baby boy into this world she gave me the confidence to labor at home and provided comfort and support until it was time to go to the hospital.  Matisse had the most calming presence and provided reassurance and encouragement the entire time even through unexpected obstacles like both the hospitals we registered at being full and our care clinic not being responsive.  Matisse jumped right into action and got us where we needed to go, she helped my husband and I walk into our delivery room with confidence and we were blessed with the most incredible birth team.  I felt so much encouragement and support throughout the entire labor and birth of our son I could not have asked for a better experience.  This is not just something Matisse does, this is truly a gift she has been given and she does it so well.  Matisse is so caring, compassionate, encouraging, knowledgeable and an incredible advocate and support for both parents.  I cannot recommend her enough, I tell everyone about her and the experience our family had.  We were so blessed to have Matisse be a part of our pregnancy, labor and the delivery of our son and it is a memory and a testimony we will cherish forever.”

“As a first time mom, my husband and I knew that having added support during our birth was non-negotiable. Statistically medical bias against black and brown women face during child birth, which in extreme cases, can affect the mortality rate of both mom and baby, also factored into our decision.
